The weird teenager that was camped next to me tried to have a go at me last night. I heard him going mental at his mum earlier in the day. I think he chucked the table. I ducked my head out but she was dealing with him and I don't speak French so all I could have done was thumped him. Later, when his dad was there he asked me why I'm English. I only know because his dad speaks a bit of English and translated. I told him I'm Australian and was chatting to his dad when the kid got up and marched up to me all agitated jabbering away in French. His dad calmed him down and we just pretended nothing happened. Don't know what his problem was but he nearly got a d-lock up the melon.
Got up at 5:30 this morning. I didn't want to be walking on the roads with lots of traffic. I pushed the bike for about a km and a half then thought screw it I'll just ride. The back wheel was rubbing the whole way but there was almost no traffic so I made it to Avranches pretty quickly. It was a nice ride actually.
Because I rode I got there before anything was open so I had to wait around. Got the spoke fixed and headed off towards Mont St Michel but my phone went flat so I looked for somewhere to charge it. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to take pictures. I couldn't find a place so went back to Avranches. Such a pain. When it was charged I left again and a storm hit. It pelted down. It was actually pretty fun except I forgot to waterproof my towel. So it's been washed. That counts. I didn't get to Mont Saint-Michel. No point going in a storm.
I'm at a massively overpriced campground now, but it is nice. A bit of a messed up day really, but I got my bike fixed, bought a watch and got wet. Good to have the bike fixed.
Funny that all that travelling you're not all that far from London as the crow flies. We had the same storm here the last couple of days
ReplyDeleteYeah I know, I could be back in a couple of hours if I wanted!
