Étretat

I'm in Etretat. The ride from Freport was a doozy! It would have been worth taking the main road because there was a lot of valleys to climb out of, and they were big. Tomorrow I'll try to rig up my mobius camera to my helmet to get some footage of the roads down into these valleys.

The camp ground in Etretat is full, but I managed to blag my way in. Quite frankly if this were Plomer at Christmas time you'd be wondering why it was so empty. I wouldn't even call it half full. The French probably don't even know the method of getting a small tent in and spreading your mess around so everyone leaves and your mates can fit in.

I haven't explored Etretat yet but my first impression is that it is the alpha seaside town. It seems busier, nicer, the cliffs are bigger, the casino is flasher. I'm going to rest for a bit, have a shower and see if I can figure out if the festival that's supposed to be on is a night time festival. I need to find some of those bread things with chocolate in them too, they are so good.

The photo of the bikes is from Etretat. The sign says something about the Tour de France. The other 2 photos are from Yport, which is between Freport and Etretat. Last photo is the full camp site that I managed to just squeeze my tent into.
