Prague again

Yesterday I went on a walking tour of Prague. It wasn't particularly interesting and we ended up bailing after the first hour. The guy giving the tour was totally passionless and his voice was toneless. When he started explaining the heliocentric model of the universe at the astronomical clock it was the last straw for me. I kind of feel like trying again today. There is a website where you can download audio tours so I might do that instead.

Speaking of the astronomical clock, it is the first time I've seen a crowd gather to watch a clock. It's also the first time I've heard a crowd cheer a new hour. It was like new years eve. The clock does a little automated puppet show every hour. There were hundreds of people gathered around watching.

After we snuck away we went to the Jewish quarter. The bloke I was with, James,  is Jewish so he acted like my tour guide explaining what the buildings are and translating the signs. He also translated the graffiti which I found hilarious.

We went to a restaurant on the edge of the Jewish quarter and had a pork knuckle each. James wasn't right into his religion so had no problem eating pork. As he said, he's probably eaten more pork than I have in his lifetime. He flew to Israel last night so hopefully they don't have pork detectors at the airport.

I went to sleep pretty early last night. Needed to catch up after the overnight bus. I'm thinking I might go visit the castle as well today.

I head to Krakow Tuesday night and am staying for 2 nights. Then I'm not sure where to go.
