For context it is pouring rain in this photo. One goat is smart under the table but for some reason I like the other goat more.
Across the cane fields there is what looked like a powerstation but I think may be a sugar refinery. There are loads of train tracks around here for trains carting sugar cane. So far I have crossed 3 without realising they don't have signals and I was supposed to stop and look for trains. I shudder to think the damage one of those trains would endure if it collided with the mighty KLR.
Mystery factory.
The rain today got heavier as I approached Mackay. I'm actually only about 45 minutes from Eungalla, which is where I was planning to go tomorrow night and still might. The weather forecast says it is going to rain there until Wednesday (today is Friday).
The other option is to do a day trip tomorrow and stay with my elpaca friends again tomorrow. I realise that won't influence the weather but I won't have to pack up and set up in the rain. Also, google says Eungalla will have 3 rains coming from the cloud while here will only have two, and they're smaller. I don't mean to show off but I did do a semester of meteorology at uni. I thought it was going to be about meteors.

Check out the weather app "Windy". It has a decent map so you can see what the weather is doing where you are and where you will be.
